This year, many of what used to be our priorities have changed, and one of them has risen to the top of the list: caring for others to cope with and overcome the current contingency and its effects.
For this reason, at the beginning of March, both the government, private industry and civil society have continued to collaborate to meet this objective. How have they done it? Don't stop reading...
Support: a pillar today
Support has come in different forms such as the Chile Mobile Number List donation of hydration, personal protective equipment for hospitals, basic necessities, as well as active participation in social and economic recovery projects. Many institutions, companies and citizens have created synergies to strengthen Mexico.
For its part, the Mexican Coca-Cola Industry, made up of the Coca-Cola Foundation and the bottling system, has benefited more than 4 million people in 300 cities and communities in all states. Since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 345 hospitals have provided care to thousands of Mexicans, through support equivalent to 200 million pesos, granted by the industry.
All this was possible thanks to the cooperation and solidarity of institutions such as:
As well as other civil and government organizations that have participated as key allies of the IMCC, providing support to hundreds of communities around the country.
In the case of joint efforts, Joan Prats, vice president of corporate affairs at Coca-Cola Mexico stated:
This year brought unimaginable challenges for all of us, however, one of our greatest satisfactions was having allies with whom we built the opportunity to be together, even in the distance.
In the Mexican Coca-Cola Industry we are grateful to each one of them and to all the Mexicans who continue to believe and work with us to make a difference.
Joan Prats, vice president of corporate affairs at Coca-Cola Mexico.
Value alliances
It should be noted that through these alliances and with the support of:
Coca-Cola FEMSA.
Continental Ark.
Bepensa.
Rich Corporation.
Colima bottling plant.
Del Fuerte Corporation.
Nayar Bottling Group.
The Mexican Coca-Cola Industry distributed throughout the republic:
4 million liters of water and hydration product to more than 274 COVID hospitals.
1.4 million medical supplies (personal protective equipment) to 155 IMSS hospitals and local hospitals.
In addition to this and reiterating its commitment to Mexicans, the Coca-Cola Foundation provided financial and in-kind aid to communities affected by the crisis and women owners of small businesses; reaching more than 200 thousand people, in alliance with Caritas and Pro Mujer.
Coca-Cola Foundation, as part of the IMCC , continues to join forces with Comunalia and other organizations, to promote social and economic recovery , this as part of the continuity of efforts for the following year.
COVID-19 has shown us, more than ever, that the solutions to social problems are working in alliance, collaborations between civil organizations and companies are essential to promote the economic and social reactivation of our communities, we need each other all.
Mariana Sandoval, Executive Director of Communalia.
The power of strategies
With the aim of transforming the quality of life of more than 1 million people , and aiming for better conditions for those who live in remote or resource-deprived communities, the industry has a future strategy that includes:
Access to water.
The delivery of resources and supplies.
Training and job creation throughout the country.
The actions that the IMCC has carried out during 2020 are just proof of the importance of joining efforts and preparing to make a difference.
Finally Coca-Cola México has a very important message.
